Exchange as Spacean evening on the value of international exchange projects.

FOTODOK invites you to an evening on the value of international exchange projects. Why are they important? What are the direct and indirect effects on (lens-based) art and photography practices? Who initiates and facilitates them and how? During Exchange as Space, photographers, (lens-based) artists and the institutions that support them reflect on these questions and their experiences of international exchange.

FOTODOK and Casa Tres Patios, a residency and exhibition space in Medellin (Colombia), have worked since 2011 on the international exchange project Attitudes and Approaches in Documentary, Lens-based Practices in Colombia and the Netherlands. After a period of curatorial investigation, they invited Colombian artist Daniel Santiago Salguero and Dutch artist Anna Dasovic to start a year-long exchange without a predetermined outcome. Exchange as Space is one of the final events of the project.
